Below is a general plan for the site, along with some incoming ideas, open to change, criticism and suggestions. As with any site, this will be a forever changing site, with new content added as we can, as well as add improvements for ease of use and to better capture the history that centers around the small town in the desert many call home.

Ruben's Barber Shop

Ruben Nogales opened this shop in the 1960's.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.  ROLL CALL:  Present - Jose’ Castillo, Dee & Bob Hightower, Mike Mason, Louie & Paulette Walters.  Absent:   Tom Reese, Anna Parrish, & Jon Cameron.
 
Secretary:  Paulette Walters read the minutes of the board meeting held on 11/17/11; minutes were approved as read.

About Us

The Ajo Historical Society was founded in 1975 and the Ajo Historical Society Museum was opened in 1976. The Museuem is located just a few minutes away from downtown Ajo at the St. Catherine's Indian Mission 1/4 mile to the west of the mine overlook on the Mine lookout road. The Museum itself is home to several different items from Ajo and the surrounding area's past.
