The Ajo Museum will be closed on Saturday, November 19, since the volunteer guides will be involved with the 100th anniversary celebration of the Immaculate Conception Parish that day.

The museum will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day and on Christmas.

The Ajo Museum’s normal visiting hours are from noon to 4 p.m. daily from late October until the end of May, though this is contingent on volunteer availability. “If the flag is flying, then someone is there to greet you.”

The museum does not have a set entrance fee but relies heavily upon monetary donations from visitors to meet its ongoing costs. “We are off to a very good start this season with nearly 200 visitors since opening last month,” noted Louie Walters. “Recent guests have included people from Canada and Germany.”

Anyone interested in becoming a guide on a weekly basis should contact Louie Walters or other members of the Ajo Historical Society.
